Leccino

LECCINO OR LECCINA The origin is Tuscany but the spread of this cultivar is extended to a wider territory. Particularly afraid of excessive humidity, the fruits are small and very early ripening. The resulting oil is often of excellent quality and does not have aromatic peaks of particular intensity. It tends to be sweet, that is, with very low if not absent bitter tones and this makes it suitable, at least preferred, for "light" condiments. It has a fresh scent of wild herbs, basil and, at times, mint. From the almond taste it passes to a clear but light spicy especially after a few months from pressing
